About this position

Professor of the Practice, Emergency and Security Management Programs Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies seeks a full-time Professor of the Practice in Emergency and Security Management to provide academic leadership for the Master of Professional Studies in Emergency and Disaster Management (EDM) program while contributing to the growth of an expanding portfolio of degree programs in the emergency management, applied intelligence, security, and public safety disciplines. This is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure line faculty position. Approximately 40–50% of the faculty member’s effort will be devoted to administrative leadership responsibilities, including faculty governance, curriculum design, and instructional oversight for both on-ground and online modalities. The remaining effort will be dedicated to teaching 3 to 5 graduate courses per year and contributing actively to the intellectual life of the university. We are seeking faculty with exceptional leadership experience who value innovation, collaboration and collegiality, and who can lead and support teams of colleagues in academic and faculty affairs, learning design, technology and operations, and marketing and enrollment management, to drive the quality, rigor, and growth of our emergency and security management programs. The ideal candidate must be passionate about teaching graduate and professional students and contributing to the intellectual life of the university.
