About this position

Position Overview The Instructor will join the Department of Pediatrics at Georgetown University as a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty member, contributing directly to the translational research, scholarship, and technological advancement missions of the Thrive Center for Children, Families, and Communities. Serving as the Technology Director of Thrive Innovation—the Center’s dedicated division for digital health and instructional technology initiatives—the Instructor will bridge academic theory with applied engineering. The candidate will be responsible for leading the systematic translation of faculty-led research into evidence-based digital solutions, managing technical and strategic frameworks for cross-sector innovation, and driving scholarly inquiry into the efficacy and deployment of emergent technologies in early childhood, pediatric mental health, and disability care. The Technology Director will provide rigorous academic, strategic, and technical co-leadership for Thrive Innovation. The Instructor will co-lead the venture formation and development process within the Thrive Studio, establishing evidence-based evaluation criteria to prioritize which digital interventions the Studio pursues. They will co-direct the methodology for market research, design scientifically grounded go-to-market strategies, and orchestrate the academic business development frameworks required to scale and validate new ventures. The Instructor will serve as the principal investigator for solution design and functional prototyping within the Thrive Studio, translating clinical and pedagogical insights into digital architectures. They will provide specialized technical consultation to Center faculty exploring novel digital technology initiatives, ensuring that emerging interventions are grounded in robust technical and data-security standards.
