FLSA Status: Exempt Hours: As determined by department/chair Job Type: Part Time Rank: PTI/Adjunct Campus: Syracuse, NY Unionized Position Code: UA Job Description: The Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs seeks a part-time instructor to teach 1 open section of Sociology 305-Sociology of Sex and Gender Online - Winterlude (3 credits). 12/16/26-1/8/27 Course Description: This course focuses on the social forces shaping women's and men's lives in contemporary societies. Changing gender expectations. Intersections of gender with race and ethnicity, class & age. Social movements for women's and men's liberation. Qualifications: A minimum of an MA in Sociology or a closely related discipline. Preference will be given to ABD & PhD level students from our program and to those who have taught for us previously. Job Specific Qualifications: Responsibilities: Developing and/or updating a class syllabus. Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date. Preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments. Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours. Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course. Meeting all designated class periods. Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations. Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner. Providing departmentally sanctione
