Supervised practice experience in human service agency related to student's concentration choice. SWK 771 has two components:A community-based internship in an approved human service agency under the guidance of an agency-based field instructor. A biweekly in-person seminar led by the course instructor. Internship Overview Students engage in advanced practice within their concentration area, developing a Professional Development Plan (PDP) with their field instructor. They carry a caseload of assignments and are expected to take increasing responsibility for their learning and professional judgment as the year progresses. Seminar Overview The seminar supports integration of classroom learning with field experience through reflection, discussion, and peer support. Students explore ethics, theory, policy, and practice, gaining deeper insight into professional roles, values, and the use of self in social work.
