Part-Time Faculty: PPE 325 - Athletics in Education (Spring 2027) Location: Syracuse University Pay Range: $1783.56 - $1837.07 per credit Pay Determination: Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months' salary unless otherwise specified. Office Hours Required Job Type: Part Time Rank: PTI/Adjunct Campus: Syracuse, NY Unionized Position Code: UA Job Description: The School of Education seeks a Part-Time Professor for PPE 325 - The Philosophy, Principles and Organization of Athletics in Education (3 credits) Course Description: The course covers basic philosophy and principles as integral parts of coaching education, physical education, and general education; State, local and national regulations and policies related to athletics; legal considerations; function and organization of leagues and athletic associations in New York State; personal standards for the responsibilities of the coach as an educational leader; public relations; general safety procedures; general principles of school budgets, records, purchasing and use of facilities. Qualifications:Master's degree required. Job Specific Qualifications: Responsibilities: Developing and/or updating a class syllabus. Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date. Preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments. Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours. Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course. Meeting all designated class periods.
