WASTEWATER OPERATIONS INSTRUCTOR POOL Posting Number: PT3341 Department: Continuing Education Position Type: Non-Exempt Employment Status: Part-Time Salary: $30.00 per hour Open Date: 01/22/2026 Close Date: Job Description Summary: The purpose of this position is to: Teach TCEQ-approved wastewater courses to prepare students for the Class D Operator certification exam. Provide instruction on wastewater system operations, safety protocols, and maintenance procedures. Educate students on TCEQ regulations and compliance requirements. Develop lesson plans and instructional materials aligned with TCEQ curriculum standards. Provide students with a written and accessible course syllabus that follows the Course Syllabus Guidelines and facilitates a clear understanding between student and instructor of the content, goals, requirements, expectations, evaluation methods, and schedule of work. Assess student progress and provide guidance to ensure readiness for certification. Foster a positive and engaging learning environment for adult learners. Maintain daily attendance rosters. Input final student grades. Submit final hard copies of daily attendance rosters and grade sheets to Career Training in the Continuing Education Department. Minimum Qualifications:Current TCEQ Class D Wastewater Operator Certification (or higher). At least three (3) years of professional experience in wastewater operations. High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications:Post-secondary education in environmental science or related field. Previous experience teaching/conducting a course/program in a post-secondary setting. Experience developing lesson plans and curriculum for instruction. Prior experience with CANVAS.
