FLSA: Exempt Contract Length: N/A Class Summary: Responsible for providing clinical instruction within the Vocational Nursing program. Provide scheduled office hours for student consultation. Participate in assigned course student orientation activities as needed. Position Type: Adjunct Position Funding: Regular Minimum Education/Training/Experience Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Photocopy of college transcript conferring degree must accompany the application.) Official transcript is required at time of employment. Must have a current Texas RN license (license from the state of Texas must be presented at time of interview). Preferred Education/Training/Experience Training and Experience Preferred: BSN preferred, with one (1) year clinical experience. Prefer one year of teaching experience. Minimum Knowledge & Skills Principles and practices of teaching; Training techniques; Detailed knowledge of material being taught in the specific course and program area; Knowledge of student engagement techniques; Record keeping procedures. Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with students, coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction. Ability to provide supervision to students during clinical practicums. Ability to adapt instructional content in order to meet learning needs of students from varied educational and cultural backgrounds.Preferred Knowledge & Skills Demonstrated commitment to the College's diversity goals, including the goal of becoming a Hispanic Serving Institution.
