Position Title: Part-Time Lecturer in History of Rock 'n' roll Department: Music Position Type: Faculty Qualifications: Education: Ph. D. in appropriate discipline preferred; ABD will be accepted. Experience: Demonstrated excellence in college-level teaching Pedagogy & Technology: Command of instructional technology alongside evidence of creative pedagogical practice reflecting knowledge of current methodologies and curriculum innovation. Description: The Department of Music at Tufts University invites applications for a non-tenure track Part-Time Lecturer position in the field of Music History for the Spring 2027 semester. Responsibility will be for a general education-level undergraduate class, "History of Rock n' Roll" (MUS 23). Details for this course are as follows: MUS 0023 History of Rock n' Roll o Time and Location: T/Th 10:30-11:45, Granoff Music Center, Room 155 o Enrollment Cap: 65 students o TAs: Eligible (contingent on enrollment and availability) This course is highly customizable in terms of content and pedagogical approach. Candidates should be prepared to address both sociocultural contexts and musical structure, and to situate music within broader trends in 20th century art and entertainment, technology, and cultural history.
