Job no: 495753 Closes: Work Type: Faculty - Part Time Locations: Thibodaux, LA Categories: Academic Affairs, Maritime & Continuing Education College: Fletcher Technical Community College Department: Academic Affairs Sub department: Energy & Advanced Technologies Type of Appointment: Unclassified - Adjunct What You'll Do:Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction in marine electrical systems, electrical procedures, equipment use, and workplace safety. Teach assigned credit and/or non-credit courses; maintain a reliable, punctual presence for all scheduled class sessions. Develop and post course syllabi aligned with approved master syllabi and College course-management requirements. Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that promotes student success, respect, and professional growth. Monitor attendance, academic progress, and performance; provide timely feedback and submit required records, grades, and reports by established deadlines. Advise and mentor students on course progress, career pathways, employment opportunities, and further education. Refer students who may be at risk academically to appropriate advising or counseling resources. Ensure instructional equipment, tools, and technology are safe, functional, and ready for student use. Remain accessible to students by phone or email, responding within 24 hours on workdays and 48 hours on weekends. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and program leadership to support department and College goals. Participate in required trainings, professional development, and credentialing activities. Represent the College professionally and follow all College, LCTC, safety, accessibility, and student-conduct policies. Required Qualifications:High school diploma or GED. At least 36 months of professional work experience in the marine electrical field. Demonstrated knowledge of safe electrical practices, equipment operation, and industry-standard procedures.
