Lecturer - PSYC 220: Introductory Statistics in Psychology (Fall 2026) Job No: 560081 Work Type: Instructional Faculty - Temporary/Lecturer Locations: San Marcos Categories: Unit 3 - CFA - California Faculty Association, Faculty - Behavioral Sciences, Temporary, Part Time PSYC 220: Introductory Statistics in Psychology Position: Lecturer Semester: Fall 2026 Day/Time: Mondays and Wednesdays, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:20 p.m. Modality: In-Person College: College of Humanities, Arts, Behavioral and Social Sciences Department: Psychology The Department of Psychology at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach PSYC 220: Introductory Statistics in Psychology. Salary is commensurate with credential and experience. Course description: Basic statistical methods for analysis of data in psychology; descriptive and inferential statistics; hypothesis testing; parametric tests of significance. Introduction to linear regression and correlation; analysis of variance; nonparametric techniques. The requirements will include participation in low-risk psychological experiments or completion of additional short papers. Minimum qualifications: A master's degree in psychology or a relevant field, Successful experience teaching at the college level Per the California State University's Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment. Preferred qualifications: A doctorate in Psychology or a relevant field Higher education experience teaching a particular class Research experience relevant to the specific course content Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service.
