Job Summary The Adjunct Instructor, Adult Basic Education is a part-time, non-benefited position that provides instruction in foundational academic skills—including reading, writing, mathematics, and digital literacy—to adult learners seeking to improve their educational levels. The instructor helps prepare students for high school equivalency tests, postsecondary education, or entry into workforce training programs. The instructor creates a student-centered, inclusive learning environment and adapts instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Compensation: $23.19/hour. Maximizes student engagement and success by employing methods that develop student understanding of the values, practice, and procedures within the designated discipline, and by engaging students in interdisciplinary practices to develop 21stcentury learners. Requirements

• There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor
• An employee must be able lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
• The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Adult Education, English, Math, or a related field
