About this position
Job Summary: Adjuncts are hired to teach on a semester basis. Provides academic instruction and student academic support for assigned classes; performs tasks designed to ensure the quality and consistency of academic instruction; develops instructional methods for their assigned course(s) which pertain to the course(s) learning outcomes and course catalog description; adheres to college policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering student-centered instruction, developing accessible syllabi, designing assignments that promote critical academic skills, maintaining accurate records, and providing timely feedback. Additional responsibilities include supporting student learning, ensuring instructional quality and consistency, fostering an inclusive and engaging classroom environment, integrating active learning and technology, and staying current with best practices in teaching. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in English required from an accredited institution. (or M.Ed. in English Education, MFA in English, MA in Linguistics, or MA in Humanities if graduate work includes courses in composition and rhetoric) Licensing Requirements: Valid Driver's License (Standard) PA ACT-15 (Standard) Please note that this position requires employees to comply with PA Act 15.
