Teaching experience

I have extensive experience teaching, training, and facilitating adult learners in corporate and professional environments. Throughout my career in Learning & Development and Human Resources, I have designed curriculum, developed instructional materials, facilitated instructor-led and virtual training, conducted training needs assessments, and evaluated learner performance and program effectiveness. I have trained employees, managers, department leaders, and cross-functional teams on topics including leadership, professional development, human resources, organizational effectiveness, compliance, onboarding, systems and software, customer service, workplace communication, performance improvement, and operational procedures. My experience includes developing and delivering training programs at Molina Healthcare and LoanCare, where I worked with subject-matter experts and business leaders to translate complex information into practical, understandable learning experiences. I have more than five years of experience working with instructional development technologies including Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and SharePoint. As a Human Resources and Learning & Development leader with Greener Good, I also provide education, training, and professional guidance within the regulated cannabis industry. My experience includes cannabis workforce development, employee education, compliance and operational readiness, sales and product education, business development, leadership, and helping professionals understand the unique requirements of working within a highly regulated industry. My teaching philosophy is centered on making complex information understandable, practical, and relevant. I am comfortable teaching virtually or in person and working with learners from entry-level employees through senior leadership.

Interests & speaking style

I am passionate about teaching because I genuinely enjoy helping people understand information they may have once considered difficult or intimidating. I believe that with the right approach, I can teach almost anyone anything. My lecturing style is engaging, conversational, practical, and interactive. I use real-world examples, storytelling, discussion, demonstrations, and scenario-based learning to connect academic concepts to situations students may actually encounter in their careers. I encourage questions and participation and work to create an environment where learners feel comfortable contributing their perspectives. As a Learning & Development and Human Resources professional, I have spent years working with adult learners with different backgrounds, learning styles, experience levels, and professional goals. I adapt my teaching style to the audience rather than expecting every learner to absorb information in the same way. I am particularly interested in teaching Human Resources, leadership, organizational development, business, professional development, adult learning, and emerging areas within the regulated cannabis industry. I enjoy bringing current industry experience into the learning environment so students can understand not only the theory behind a subject, but how it applies in the real world. Ultimately, my goal is for students to leave a lecture feeling informed, confident, engaged, and able to apply what they have learned.
