This position is responsible for teaching a range of courses in Physics (PHY) to students in the community college setting. This position holds accountability for instruction, student assessment, and evaluation of a diverse student population. Examples of DutiesTeach assigned courses. Develop and update syllabi, according to departmental course objectives, for courses assigned. Develops appropriate assessment tools to determine course effectiveness and ensures that student outcomes are achieved. Participate in the department's assessment of student learning outcomes. Observe and assess student-learning competencies, providing timely feedback to students. Maintain and report appropriate classroom records: e.g., grades, attendance, etc. Work collaboratively with other departmental faculty on projects aimed at assessing and improving student learning. Hold office hours for assisting students. Participate in adjunct faculty development. Maintain regular communication with Library and Learning Services staff. Attend, facilitate, and/or lead departmental meetings and in-service programs within the department and college-wide. Adheres to departmental objectives, policies, procedures, and standards; recommends changes to departmental procedures as necessary to improve the efficacy of the Department. Support and serve as a role model for our mission, vision, and student service initiatives. Adhere to the policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines of the college. Support
