Job Summary The Division of Workforce Partnerships is seeking a Rhode Island-licensed pharmacist to serve as a Pharmacy Technician Program Instructor for its workforce training program. This position combines classroom, laboratory, and online instruction with coordination of the student experience from program onboarding through classroom training, PTCE preparation, externship completion, certification, and state licensure. The Instructor serves as a point of contact among students, instructional staff, program leadership, workforce partners, and pharmacy employers. The position supports consistent program delivery, student success, regulatory compliance, and positive completion and employment outcomes. The program may include daytime and/or evening cohorts delivered through in-person, online, and hybrid formats. The successful candidate must maintain reliable attendance and fulfill both instructional and program responsibilities for all assigned cohorts. Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive, and student-centered environment, engaging effectively with students of varied learning styles, cultures, identities, and life experiences. Deliver classroom, laboratory, and online instruction in accordance with the approved curriculum and established program objectives. Teach pharmacy calculations, pharmacology, pharmacy law, medication safety, prescription processing, compounding concepts, and other competencies required for entry-level pharmacy technician practice. Prepare students for successful completion of the Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination (PTCE). Deliver instructional materials, assessments, laboratory activities, and student resources to reflect current pharmacy practice, certification standards, and employer needs.
