Department: Engineering Fundamentals-JM Location: Belknap Campus Time Type: Part time Worker Type: Temporary (Fixed Term) Job Req ID: R109446 Position Description: The Department of Engineering Fundamentals at the University of Louisville invites applications for part time lecture for the Spring 2027 term (January 6th - May 7th) The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Engineering Analysis I, a calculus-based engineering math class for first- and second-year undergraduate engineering students. Required QualificationsDoctorate or Masters degree in Engineering or a related field. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, including working with a diverse population. Experience in teaching undergraduate math classes to STEM students. Demonstrated commitment to high-quality teaching and student success Preferred QualificationsExperience and interest interacting with first-year college students or similar population Experience with MS OneNote, and MyLabs. Interest and experience using evidence-based teaching practices and active learning Interest and experience in continuous course improvement based on scholarship of teaching and learning Department Information Established in 2007, the Engineering Fundamentals Department is comprised of faculty who teach common core courses taken by all entering engineering students. In their first four semesters, engineering students take 16 hours of courses from the Department of Engineering Fundamentals, including Engineering Methods, Tools, and Practice I and II and calculus-based Engineering Analysis courses. Most courses have many sections and multiple instructors who collaborate to work as instructional teams to maintain consistency of learning outcomes across courses and support continuous improvement.
