FLSA Status: Exempt Hours: Spring 2027, online, Mondays 3:45-5:05pm Job Type: Part Time Rank: PTI/Adjunct Campus: Syracuse, NY Unionized Position Code: UA Job Description: The School of Information Studies seeks a Part-Time Instructor to teach IDS302: Idea2Startup Students establish an actionable plan for the launch of their own business or social venture. Focus on establishing a well-conceived, achievable, and actionable path to market. After taking this course, students will be able to:Understand your entrepreneurial mission, lean startup methodologies, and your minimum viable product. Conduct research on your relevant industry and identify your customers, their values, and your unique competitive advantage. Conduct research on your relevant market based on your business concept, including the design and testing of your value hypothesis. Develop a viable model for your business, or multiple, compatible viable models. Create testable business hypotheses and experiments to validate problems, markets, product/market fit, and ability/willingness to pay. Analyze the various capital sources available to entrepreneurial start-ups, develop a plan for raising sufficient capital to advance your business, and pitch it. Qualifications: Active engagement in the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem, with experience in startups or organizational innovation, is required.
