Part-Time Ethnic Studies Instructor

About this position

BASIC FUNCTION: Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Ethnic Studies courses up to 10 hours/week Organize and teach all levels of Ethnic Studies classes Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning; Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses; Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester; Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired Essential Duties Summary REQUIRED DUTIES: Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. Required Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications at least one of the disciplines below. African American Studies: Master’s degree in African-American/Black/Africana Studies OR Bachelor’s degree in African-American/Black/Africana Studies AND Master’s degree in Ethnic Studies Asian American Studies: Master’s degree in Asian American Studies OR Master’s degree in Ethnic Studies AND Bachelor’s degree in Asian American Studies Chicano Studies: Master’s degree in Chicano Studies OR Ethnic Studies Ethnic Studies: Master’s in African American Studies, Black Studies, Africana Studies, Latino Studies, La Raza Studies, Chicana/o Studies, Asian American Studies, Native, American Studies, or American Indian Studies OR Master’s in Ethnic Studies Native American/American Indian Studies: Master’s degree in Native American/American Indian Studies, OR Master’s degree in Ethnic Studies AND Bachelor’s degree in Native American /American Indian Studies OR The equivalent EQUIVALENCY REQUIREMENT: All applicants are required to meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba
