Posting Number: req27121 Department: Systems and Industrial Engr Location: Tucson Campus Address: Tucson, AZ USA Position Highlights The Department of Systems & Industrial Engineering is seeking an instructor for its Ontological Modeling for Systems Engineering course. This 3-unit course is offered every Fall semester and is taken by systems engineering students as well as other students in the college of engineering who wish to take it as a technical elective. The instructor will prepare lecture materials, student assessments (quizzes, home work assignments, exams, projects, etc.), and deliver lectures remotely. The ideal candidate will have academic and/or industry experience in ontological modeling and application of ontologies to systems engineering. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Duties & Responsibilities Teach one section of SIE 502 Ontological Modeling for Systems Engineering Prepare and deliver instructional materials and guide/lead class activities in Brightspace's D2L Ensure successful delivery of the course's learning objectives through the creation and dissemination of students assessments (e.g., quizzes, homework, exams, projects, etc.) Establish and adhere to grading rubrics to ensure students understand grading expectations Provide timely feedback to students on their submitted assignments If provided, collaborate with Teaching Assistant or grader to ensure uniform evaluation of student work Maintain course materials in the University's chosen Learning Management System that is optimized for remote students Work with instructional designer to optimize course materials using Quality Matters standards for online learning Minimum Qualifications PhD in an engineering or closely related discipline.
