The course is a 3-unit class, has one 3-hour class each week of the 15-week semester, and is taught in a hybrid format (half of the courses will be online and the others are in-person at the San Marcos campus). The course is scheduled for Thursdays, from 1:00 to 3:50 p.m. Course Description Addresses generalist social work practice with diverse individuals within a person-in-environment perspective. Emphasizes core social work knowledge, values, and skills within the context of evidence informed engagement, assessment, intervention, and evaluation. Minimum qualifications: A Master of Social Work Five (5) years of post-MSW experience Five (5) years of applicable post-MSW full-time practice experience working with individuals in direct practice social work settings LCSW licensure Per the California State University's Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment. Preferred qualifications: A doctoral degree in Social Work or in a closely related field. Experience in teaching classes and instructional methodology Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service.
