About this position
This job profile is only for faculty members hired to complete a short-term and/or part-time academic work assignment, such as teaching one or more courses for one or two academic terms. The Department of Engineering and Society at the University of Virginia School of Engineering and Applied Science (http://www.eands.virginia.edu/) seeks candidates for a faculty wage position to teach undergraduate courses in our core curriculum for Spring 2027. Our need includes sections of our second-year Engineering Ethics course and/or our fourth-year thesis development courses STS and Engineering Practice and The Engineer, Ethics, and Professional Responsibility. Candidates must have an advanced degree (Ph. D. or Masters) in science and technology studies, engineering education, philosophy, or a closely related humanities or social science field with a strong ethics-focused core. Prior experience in teaching at the college or university level is anticipated.
