Position Overview Adjunct Faculty, Behavioral Biology Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences Zanvyl Krieger School of Arts and Sciences Johns Hopkins University General Description The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences (http://pbs.jhu.edu/) at Johns Hopkins University invites applications for a non-tenure track adjunct faculty member within the David S. Olton Behavioral Biology Program to teach Animal Behavior. We are especially interested in candidates with a passion for teaching and a strong record in the classroom, delivering high-quality education to undergraduate students. Animal Behavior - 200.208 This course examines how and why animal behaviors are produced across the animal kingdom. Neurobiological, hormonal and developmental mechanisms and adaptive function of behaviors are examined in an evolutionary context. Behaviors include survival, acquiring food, reproduction, communication, parental care, and cooperation. Students will also learn how to develop hypotheses and predictions for scientific questions and interpret graphical results. Qualifications A Ph. D. (or ABD) in psychology, biology, neuroscience, ethology, or a related discipline, a master's degree at minimum. Teaching experience is essential. Salary Range The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
