Lecturer - ANTH 240: Intro to Biological Anthropology (Fall 2026) Job No: 560127 Work Type: Instructional Faculty - Temporary/Lecturer Locations: San Marcos Categories: Unit 3 - CFA - California Faculty Association, Temporary, Part Time, Faculty - Health Sciences Anthropology 240: Intro to Biological Anthropology Position: Lecturer Semester: Fall 2026 Modality: In-Person Days/Times: Three (3) sections available: Mondays and Wednesdays, from 4:00 to 5:15 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, from 7:00 to 8:15 p.m. College: College of Humanities, Arts, Behavioral and Social Sciences Department: Anthropology The Department of Anthropology at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach ANTH 240: Introduction to Biological Anthropology. Course Description ANTH-240 Introduction to Biological Anthropology introduces students to the subfield of anthropology that examines human origins, evolution, biological variation, and adaptability. Topics include the basic principles of genetics and inheritance, evolutionary theory, primate biology and behavior, the fossil record of human and nonhuman primates, and contemporary human biological diversity. Minimum qualifications: A master's degree in Anthropology Per the California State University's Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment Preferred qualifications: A doctorate in Anthropology One (1) year of higher education teaching experience Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service.
