OverviewThe Department of Middle Eastern, South Asian and African Studies at Columbia University announces an opening for a part-time Lecturer/Visiting Professorship in Armenian Studies, under the Nikit and Eleanora Ordjanian Visiting Professorship program. This is a one-semester visiting appointment from 1 January through 31 May 2027, with the salary of $10,000 plus travel expenses up to $5,000. The Lecturer or Visiting Assistant/Associate/ or full Professor will teach one undergraduate-level course in Armenian history, literature, art, or related areas of Armenian culture, and participate in the public outreach programs of the Armenian Center at Columbia University. Applicants at the rank of Lecturers in Discipline are expected to have the doctorate or its professional equivalent, teaching experience, documented evidence of pedagogical excellence, and evidence of professional growth and activity in the given field.
