Title: GA Teaching - Economics - Fall 2026/Spring 2027 Division Name: Academic Affairs Department: Economics Campus Location: Normal, IL Job Summary Graduate teaching assistants are generally assigned to assist with course instruction. The nature of the assistance can involve a variety of activities such as:Serve as a primary or secondary teaching instructor in a class or laboratory. Meet with and/or tutor students, hold office hours, prepare instructional materials, and assist during class and/or laboratory. Grade student assignments that require knowledge of subjects taught in a class or laboratory. Assist with other instructional related activities in the department. Salary Rate / Pay Rate $1510 Required QualificationsB.S. degree in Economics or related fields. GPA of 3.0 or better. State law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position. Applicants should have a currently valid minimum speaking score of 26 on the TOEFL internet-based test (iBT) or an overall IELTS score of 8. The Duolingo English Test cannot be used to satisfy the English language requirement. Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook, which can be found at http://hr.illinoisstate.edu/downloads/GA_Handbook.pdf Must be a degree-seeking graduate student at Illinois State University. Preferred Qualifications Enrolled or admitted students in the M.S. in Applied Economics program.
