Adjunct Faculty - Finance and Economics Department of Operations, Innovation, and Leadership | University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) This position is specifically to teach on-site at Fort Drum, New York. Local applicants only; UMGC does not sponsor logistical support for this role. Principles of Macroeconomics (ECON 201): An introductory study of the macroeconomy. The objective is to apply select macroeconomic theories to real-world situations. Discussion covers economic growth, technological innovation, unemployment, inflation, and the roles of monetary policy and fiscal policy in determining macroeconomic performance. Principles of Microeconomics (ECON 203): An analysis of the economic principles underlying the behavior of individual consumers and business firms. The goal is to apply select microeconomic theories to real-world situations. Emphasis is on market theory. Topics include the implications of government intervention, technological innovation, the advantages and disadvantages of different market structures, and income distribution and poverty.
