The Division of Adult Acute Psychiatry in the University of Rochester Department of Psychiatry invites applications for a full time psychiatrist with interest and/or experience in working with an acute patient population in two clinical settings, an emergency psychiatry setting (Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program or CPEP) and adult inpatient units. Join a vibrant, multidisciplinary team providing acute psychiatric care in CPEP. This is a unique opportunity to work as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team together with psychiatrists, trainees, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and clinical evaluators. This full time position includes an academic appointment with the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry at the rank of Senior Instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor, commensurate with experience and accomplishments in addition to a medical staff appointment at Strong Memorial Hospital. Teaching and clinical supervision of psychiatric residents and medical students is an integral part of this position. With over 9,000 visits per year, we are the primary provider of emergency psychiatric services to our diverse and vibrant community in Western New York. Our program has a 24/7 interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, nursing, peer bridgers, and clinical evaluators and encompasses a dedicated behavioral health space, Extended Observation Beds unit, a Mobile Crisis Team, and currently expanding with a Crisis Stabilization Hub. Our adult units has interdisciplinary staff that includes nursing, APPs, residents, psychology, activity therapists, occupational therapist, substance use counselor, and peer bridger and will soon be expanding to 66 beds across 4 units including a psych ICU unit.
