The Division of Pediatric Allergy & Immunology at the University of Rochester Medical Center is seeking a scientist or a physician-scientist to fill a faculty position, either at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank, depending on the candidate's experience. The position will hold the Dr. Eric M. Dreyfuss Professorship, which is to support a named faculty member in the Division of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at the Golisano Children’s Hospital to conduct research in the field of food allergy, pediatric allergy, or immunology, committed to the future health of children and adults. The Department of Pediatrics is committed to enhancing pediatric allergy and food allergy research in the Center of Food Allergy under the leadership of Dr. Kirsi Jarvinen-Seppo. We are part of the FARE Clinical Network, the World Allergy Organization Center of Excellence, and were recently selected as the GA2LEN ANACARE Anaphylaxis Center for Excellence. It is expected that the successful candidate will develop his or her own independent research program that aligns with the mission of the Division, expands our research capabilities, and advances the allergy field. Demonstration of sustained grant support is required for appointments at the mid-career or senior rank. There are also opportunities to design, participate in, and lead observational studies and interventional clinical trials as a principal or co-investigator. Clinical research training programs, including a cross-disciplinary R38 Research in Residency program, T32 Training Grant in Multidisciplinary Pulmonary Research, an institutional KL2 program, and those leading to a master's degree, are available via the CTSA. Collaborative research partners include the Pulmonary and Critical Care Divisions with basic and translational research programs in asthma and the Department of Dermatology with a translation research program in immune-mediated skin diseases.
