Camelback Road, Phoenix, AZ 85017 Course: Concrete Foundations This course provides an introduction to skills in concrete construction. Students learn to form and finish sidewalks, pads, grade beams, and stairs, accurately following layout plans and interpreting blueprints. The focus is on safety and following safety guidelines and practices when stripping and building wall, deck, and stair form systems, and recognizing hazards for effective completion of task hazard analysis (THA) logs. Students complete material calculations, concrete joint sawing, and operate laser grades and screed systems. Students also gain hands-on experience in rubbing and patching concrete walls, maintaining trowel machines, and vibrating decks, while developing proficiency in complex concrete projects.
