About this position

The Center for Professional Development and Education Reform in the Warner Graduate School of Education and Human Development at the University of Rochester invites applications for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Education . The term of employment will begin on July 1, 2027. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in bridging research and practice in K-12 education, with a particular focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) professional learning. As a key leader in the Center, the faculty member will design, implement, and study innovative professional learning initiatives for K-12 educators. The role also includes leading major grant- and contract-funded projects that advance K-12 teaching and learning. The principal duties associated with this position are to: • Engage in the development and delivery of high-quality professional learning programs for K-12 educators. • Translate research into practice by designing and implementing evidence-based professional learning initiatives, with a focus on STEM education. • Lead and manage major grant- and contract-funded projects, including proposal development, project execution, and reporting. • Collaborate with school districts, community organizations, and other stakeholders to identify and address professional learning needs. • Contribute to the Warner School’s mission by teaching courses, advising students, and engaging in service activities as appropriate. • Disseminate findings and best practices through publications, presentations, and other professional outlets. Qualifications: Ideal candidates for this position will have qualifications and experiences that include: • A doctoral degree in a relevant education or STEM discipline with a strong education research background. • Proven success in securing external grants and contracts to support professional learning programs or research • In-depth fluency with ongoing research in K-12 professional learning
