Schedule: PM and weekends (Saturday) __________________________________________ The primary function of the VN Instructor is to plan, teach, direct and supervise all student learning experiences in the classroom, skills lab, and clinical facilities, following the curriculum of the school as approved by the California State Board of Nursing. Duties and Responsibilities: Instruct students and develop coursework for the assigned classes per the curriculum, as assigned by, and under the direct supervision of the DON (Director of Nursing). Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies / techniques in teaching. Assist with reviewing and revising syllabi, instructional materials, and instructional guidelines. Assist with strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives to ensure quality of program. Regularly evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving curriculum and course objectives and inform them in a timely manner of their progress. Is instrumental in identifying individual and collective learning needs of assigned students, being cognizant of the physical, mental and emotional status of the learners. Maintain student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms and assist with program data collection. Teach lectures and clinical rotations (clinical rotations can be days, and/or evenings, on week days and/or weekends). Prepare, administer, and grade, written and practical examinations during course of study. Provide access to students for ongoing communication through scheduling of office hours, electronic communication and other appropriate methods.
