About this Position Conduct instruction in ENGL 1113 co-requisite courses. In addition to teaching the regular ENGL 1113 course, instructors will provide individualized virtual conferencing with 10 co-requisite students. Instructors may determine their own conferencing schedules but should expect to spend an average of 1-2 hours per week in these individual sessions. Instructors receive an additional 2 credit hours of compensation for teaching the co-requisite course. Instructors will support students in developing critical-thinking, academic, and subject-matter skills that contribute to their success in the course and their development as engaged and positive members of the community. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with underprepared students and/or providing individualized student support through tutoring, academic coaching, or similar experiences. Required Qualifications: Education: Master's in English or related discipline or Master's Degree with 18 hours in English required Experience: Minimum two (2) years teaching and classroom management experience. Must have educational qualifications to teach in subject area or have documented specialty education/experience to meet tested experience requirements, as per the Higher Learning Commission's publication on Determining Qualified Faculty, and provide leadership in an academic discipline and/or degree program.
