Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of adjunct faculty to teach English for Non-Native Speakers courses. Instructors provide practical, learner-centered English instruction that helps adult learners improve communication skills for work, school, and everyday life. Openings for these positions may not exist at the present time; however, upon review of your qualifications, you may be contacted directly by the department on an as-needed basis., To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described. • Creates classroom materials that support the goals of the course • Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour • Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner • Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching • Remains up to date on technology and methods of teaching with technology • Maintains accurate records of student attendance • Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment • Grades and returns work in a timely manner • Counsels students regarding their progress in the course • Submits end-of-course documentation by specified deadlines Supports the Department, Division, and College goals and adheres to all College policies and procedures Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction (syllabus) that reflect the appropriate learning objectives Checks email regularly and responds in a timely manner, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods and techniques to promote learning Demonstrates the ability to work respectfully and effectively with people from diverse cultures, identities, and backgrounds Able to maintain records accurately and meet deadlines consistently Able to perform duties with minimal supervision Excellent written and verbal communication skills De
