Job Category: Adjunct Employee Type: PT Adjunct Faculty FP Required Degree: Masters Manage Others: No Description Role Summary: The Adjunct position is semester-based part-time position that teaches courses within the Kinesiology and Sport program. Responsibilities:Provide academic instruction in the University's Kinesiology and Sport program Develop syllabi for courses and ensure course content meets accreditation requirements Use a variety of proven methods of engagement and assessment that facilitate student mastery of course content Provide students with constructive and corrective feedback Evaluate student learning by creating and applying course competencies and accurately evaluating student progress Utilize Blackboard, Slate for assignments, announcements, grades, and feedback Qualifications: Essential: Education:Minimum of a Bachelor's, but a Master's preferred, in Physical Education, Sports Management, Exercise Science, Kinesiology & Sport, Health, Health Education/Promotion, or other related industry Master's degree Licensure:Certification: A preference will be given to applicants with: A Kinesiology and Exercise Science, teaching, and/or fitness certification with a nationally accredited organization. IHSAA certification/licensure as an athletic official in at least one recognized sport (For PHED 235: Officiating Team Sports) Certified instructor for both CPR and First Aid through either Red Cross or American Heart Association (For HLTH 211: First Aid) Years of experience in a specific field Ability to foster a positive learning environment for students Commitment and desire to go above and beyond to serve our diverse community Supplemental Skills / Experience:Additional education/training Experience teaching at the college level Experience using Banner, Blackboard LMS, Simple Syllabus, and Degree Works If you don't have the exact skill set but are excited by innovation, different perspectives, and unique ways of thinking, we welcome you to apply!
