Adjunct Faculty - Business Category: Faculty Department: Business, Aviation and Construction Professions Locations: Poughkeepsie, NY Position ID: 206476 The Department of Business, Aviation, and Construction Professions at Dutchess Community College (DCC) invites applications for part-time faculty in the Business Program. The department is searching for instructors to teach one or more of the following business courses:BUS 107 - Principles of Marketing (3 contact hours/week) BUS 102 - Foundation of Business (3 contact hours/week) BUS 115 - Computer Applications for Business (3 contact hours/week) BUS 204 - Business Organization and Management (3 contact hours/week) BUS 210 - Business Communication (3 contact hours/week) Courses are taught in Traditional/In-Person, Hybrid, and Asynchronous online instructional modes. In-person classes take place at our main campus in Poughkeepsie and our DCC@Fishkill location, the Center of Excellence for Business, Industry, and Innovation (COEBII). Courses are held in the daytime and the evenings, daytime availability preferred. Part-time faculty teach assigned class material in accordance with learning objectives developed by the department. Job Requirements: Minimum QualificationsMaster's degree in business, or a closely related field; OR Bachelor's degree in Business or closely related field plus 10 or more years' experience.Official transcripts required upon hire Experience teaching at the college level. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Preferred QualificationsExperience teaching at a community college. Demonstrated competencies in a variety of teaching methodologies and/or pedagogical approaches that reach a broad range of learners. An understanding and appreciation of the role of the community college in higher education. Experience in using instructional technology in the classroom and a willingness to adopt new and emerging technologies. Experience and familiarity with a learning management system (LMS) such as Brightspace, Blackboard, or Canvas. A commitment to diversity and an understanding of how diversity impacts learning and instruction. Additional Information:A current resume or curriculum vitae is required. Professional letters of reference are required. Working Conditions:The performance of this work is done primarily in-person and on-site or remote, depending on instructional mode. Courses are held at the main campus in Poughkeepsie and at COEBII at DCC@Fishkill. Courses are held in the daytime and the evenings. Classification:Dutchess United Educators (DUE), Part-Time Educator Part-Time faculty positions are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Dutchess Community College (DCC) and Dutchess United Educations (DUE).
