Adjunct Faculty - Applied Technology 1617, MA, United States DescriptionMCPHS seeks adjunct instructors to teach the pilot offering of the Foundational Technology Skills Module, a six-week, non-credit course designed to strengthen students' digital literacy and prepare them for the technology demands of academic coursework and the modern clinical workplace. The course covers file management, core Microsoft Office 365 applications (OneDrive, Outlook, Excel, and Word), foundational artificial intelligence concepts and practical applications, and navigation of the Blackboard learning management system. Students who successfully complete the course earn a digital badge, and the module is incorporated into the CRD Certificate of Research Readiness Program. This is a hands-on, applied-skills teaching role well suited to a practitioner who is comfortable teaching foundational technology concepts to undergraduate students. The classroom will include a wide range of starting skill levels, requiring the instructor to create a supportive, practice-oriented classroom environment focused on active learning. Deliver weekly in-person class sessions across the six-week course, covering file and folder management, OneDrive, Outlook, Excel, Word, AI fundamentals and practical applications, and Blackboard navigation. Design and lead guided, hands-on practice exercises for each weekly unit (e.g., organizing files and folders, building a spreadsheet, formatting a professional document, applying an AI tool to a sample task). Develop, administer, and grade the pre-course diagnostic assessment, six weekly formative assessments, and the cumulative end-of-course assessment. Post course content, materials, and announcements to the course Blackboard site on a weekly basis. Hold weekly office hours by appointment to support student questions and skill development.
