Teaching load is based upon student enrollment and staffing needs. The adjunct faculty appointment contains no guarantee of continued employment. Must reside in the (DC, VA, MD) DMV area. NOVA Workforce is seeking an experienced instructor to deliver classroom training that will prepare students to successfully pass the Society for Human Resource Management (CP and/or SCP) certification exam. This is a non-credit course and requires 36 instructional hours for adult learners which will be taught evenings and/or Saturdays throughout the year. Teaching load is based on student enrollment and staffing needs. NOVA Workforce Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in the designated discipline/field of study to students from a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences. Teaching may include a variety of formats: face to face, remote, and online. The adjunct faculty contract contains no expectation or guarantee of continued employment. Must reside in the (DC, VA, MD) DMV area. Duties and Tasks • Teach SHRM Certification Prep+ class. • Develop course syllabi utilizing SHRM preparation instructional materials. • Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress. • Adhere to NOVA and VCC policies, procedures and regulations. • Maintain current competence in SHRM and/or closely related certifications. • Provide quality instruction with established materials, meeting assigned classes as scheduled. • Submit required records and reports routinely and adhere to the statement of professional ethics in accordance with NOVA and VCC policies, procedures, and regulations.
