Description JOB SUMMARY Carroll Community College is currently seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach continuing education students in basic and advanced welding during daytime hours. Instruction focuses on introducing students to the welding trade, emphasizing workplace safety, welding theory, metal preparation, fabrication, and a variety of welding processes and techniques. Faculty will provide hands-on training and support student skill development in a laboratory environment while preparing students for AWS D1.1 welder qualification, entry-level employment, and career advancement in the welding and manufacturing industries. Job Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK: Responsibilities include delivering classroom and laboratory instruction, demonstrating welding techniques, monitoring safe equipment operation, evaluating student performance, and maintaining a safe learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience performing ARC (SMAW), MIG (GMAW), and TIG (GTAW) welding, with demonstrated proficiency in AWS D1.1 structural welding standards. Strong communication, presentation, and critical thinking skills are required. Teaching experience and additional relevant industry certifications are preferred. Candidates must be available to teach classes during daytime hours PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position involves a light to medium level of physical effort which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
