School of Art & Design: Part-time Lecturer in 2-D and 3-D Studio Art, Art Education & Art History Job Class Code: 00052 FLSA: Exempt Posting Number: PTFRGV1066 Location: Rio Grande Valley, Texas Division/Organization: Provost - Academic Affairs Appointment Period for Non-Tenure Position: Tenure Status: Non Tenure Track FTE: Multiple Scope of Job: The School of Art & Design at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) occasionally needs to hire Part-Time Lecturers (multiple subject areas) to start Fall 2026 and/or Spring 2027 to teach in its Bachelor's/Master's program in the Edinburg/Brownsville campuses. Responsibilities include delivering quality instruction in the program, advising students, and participating in scholarship activities serving the college, university, or local communities as needed. UTRGV faculty are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to student success and to advancing the missions of the university, college, and program. Teaching assignments include Art Appreciation, Art Education, Art History, Drawing/Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Foundation, Jewelry, Design, Studio Generalist, Ceramic, Photography, Computer Graphics, Graphic Design/Visual Communications, Intermedia and Graphic Design. Minimum Qualifications: The qualifications to be considered as a part-time lecturer in 2-D & 3-D Studio require a Master of Fine Arts degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in the specific subject area from an accredited institution. The qualifications to be considered as a part-time lecturer in Art History and Art Education are 18 graduate credit hours in the specific subject area and an M.A., or Ph.D. in a related field of study from an
