Job Description The Assistant Coordinator, Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) / General Instructor will support and assist the Coordinator of the Basic Law Enforcement Training (Pre-Service) program for public safety professionals and the Program Director for General Instructor training (In-Service). The Assistant Coordinator shall assist in the planning, developing, coordinating, and delivering of Commission-mandated courses within the Basic Law Enforcement Training, and General Instructor program parameters. The Assistant Coordinator, BLET reports to the Coordinator, Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) and the Program Director, Law Enforcement In-Service & Pre-Service Training, with oversight from the Dean of Human Services, Public Safety, Health and Physical Education. Duties/Functions Administration Supports daily & ongoing oversight of facilities, equipment and student records to include: Maintaining classroom and laboratory spaces including upkeep of assigned equipment Providing for the security of facilities, equipment and instructional materials and maintaining safe working conditions Complying with all applicable college, state and federal rules and regulations Provide limited BLET and General Instructor course instruction for topic areas for which they hold instructor certification from the NC Criminal Justice Education Training and Standards Commission Student Support Assists in providing an environment conducive to student success to include: addressing student concerns in a timely manner referring students to campus and community resources when appropriate Demonstrate and model the College's employability skills: adaptability, communication, information processing, problem solving, responsibility and teamwork.
