POSITION/ROLE OVERVIEW The School of Jazz & Contemporary Music at The New School is seeking highly qualified candidates to join its roster of Part-Time Teaching Staff. CORE CAPABILITIES, PRIMARY DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide dedicated mentorship and instruction to students within the School of Jazz & Contemporary Music Serve as a substitute instructor within the School of Jazz & Contemporary Music Assess student learning outcomes and aid student success and individual artistic growth Submit grades in a timely manner MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSDemonstrated success as a performing artist, with significant professional accomplishments and accolades 2-3 years of teaching experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives, preferably in a College, University, and/or Conservatory Ability to work with diverse students and colleagues, fostering inclusive classroom environments Proven track record with achieving learning outcomes as defined by curriculum and course syllabi PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSA Bachelor's, advanced, or terminal degree in the field of specialty or equivalent experience (BM, MM, DMA, PH.D or equivalent) WORK MODE This position is primarily in-person and is based on campus to support effective in-person collaboration and engagement. #LI-DNI SALARY RANGE Jazz Private Lessons - $156.00/hour Part-Time Teaching Staff Substitute - $120.00/ho
