Position Summary Albertus Magnus College is inviting applications for part-time nursing faculty to support the traditional BSN and LPN-to-BSN programs. Instructional opportunities may include classroom, clinical, skills laboratory, and simulation-based teaching, depending on program needs and the qualifications of the applicant. This is an ongoing recruitment process; qualified candidates will be reviewed on a rolling basis and contacted as instructional needs arise. Qualifications Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide classroom, clinical, skills laboratory, and/or simulation instruction within the BSN and LPN-to-BSN programs, as appropriate to the faculty member's qualifications and program needs. Collaborate with course and program faculty to support student learning and achievement of course and program outcomes. Evaluate student learning, skills competency, written assignments, and/or clinical performance as appropriate to the instructional assignment. Provide timely feedback and maintain required student and course documentation. Maintain a safe, supportive, and professional learning environment and serve as a liaison to clinical agencies when assigned to clinical instruction. Meet the responsibilities of the assigned course or clinical experience in accordance with Nursing Department and College expectations. Required Qualifications For BSN and LPN-to-BSN classroom, clinical, laboratory, or simulation instruction: Registered Nurse with a current, unencumbered Connecticut RN license and a Master's degree in Nursing (MSN). Current clinical experience relevant to the instructional assignment and proven ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Preferred Qualifications Previous classroom, clinical, laboratory, or simulation teaching experience. Experience teaching adult and/or diverse learners and assessing clinical or skills competencies. For BSN instruction, expertise in areas such as adult health, community health, psychiatric/mental health, health assessment, or other specialty areas based on program needs. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Cultural Skills: Values diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of work; demonstrates strong organizational skills, effective collaboration, commitment to undergraduate education, and dedication to student success. Technology Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and internet tools; ability to learn organization-wide information systems, department-specific software, learning management systems, and other teaching technologies. Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide information, respond professionally to questions from internal and external stakeholders, and prepare routine reports and correspondence. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems, interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedule-based instructions, work independently and collaboratively, and apply theoretical knowledge and logical reasoning as appropriate. Work Schedule and Flexibility Regular schedule: Semester-by-semester or course-based appointment. The teaching schedule may include days, evenings, and/or weekends based on course and program needs. Clinical assignments require attendance for the full scheduled clinical rotation. Hybrid eligibility: Not applicable for clinical, skills laboratory, and simulation assignments. Other instructional assignments are based on course and program needs. Physical and Work Environment Requirements Sufficient strength and mobility to work effectively with patients and students and to carry out related nursing care responsibilities, including laboratory activities. Examples include lifting and positioning up to 50 pounds, carrying up to 25 pounds, walking, medication preparation and administration, bending, and stooping. Ability to sit for extended periods while using a keyboard and to ambulate between classes and buildings on campus. Ability to be physically in attendance at the designated worksite during scheduled work hours. Normal range of vision and hearing, with or without correction. Benefits and Work-Life Highlights COMPENSATION Wage/Salary Range: BSN clinical part-time instruction: $80 per hour (clinical rotations are 126 hours). The range shown is the College's good-faith wage range for this position. The final offer will be based on relevant experience, education, skills, internal equity, and budget considerations.
