Part-Time Lecturer: Experiential Learning Seminar

NYU’s Washington, DC Academic Center is seeking a local, part-time lecturer to teach an undergraduate course, “Experiential Learning Seminar.” The course is expected for Spring 2026 (January 20 to May 7). The class meeting pattern for this 4 credit course will be discussed with qualified applicants during the interview process. In addition to the time required for course preparation, classroom instruction, and assessment, the instructor is required to hold a minimum of one set 60-minute office hour per instruction day, during which the instructor will be available to meet with students. The instructor must be prepared to deliver course content remotely if conditions do not allow in-person instruction. The instructor role includes all preparation, delivery, and grading. Courses are to be intellectually challenging in content, and rigorous student assessment is required. Course Description: This course provides the for-credit, academic framework for students engaged in a Washington, DC-based internship. As the academic component of the internship experience, this seminar helps students reflect critically on their internships as a way to further their individual academic and professional goals. This includes evaluating various aspects of the internship site, such as its mission, approach, policies, and the local, regional and international contexts in which it operates. Students will be challenged to think analytically about their internships and host organizations and to connect their internship experiences to past and present professional and academic work.
