Riggs School of Applied Life Sciences Job Description: Overview: The primary responsibility of the Adjunct Faculty member is teaching. We are seeking adjunct instructors for the following Biocon- Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) Program course: BSCI 5000 - Molecular Biotechnology The Biocon-KGI Certificate Program in Biosciences is offered in partnership with an Indian Biopharmaceutical company which has global presence in the areas of diabetes, cancer and autoimmune diseases. This program helps train recent college graduates in various areas of Drug Development, thereby making them ready to step into industry jobs. Course Description In this course, students will be exposed to the conceptual foundations of biotechnology and the role played by discoveries and applications of molecular biology principles in advancing biotechnology horizons. This is a case-based course in which students learn about landmark original papers and patents that shaped biotechnology. Upon completion of this course, students will gain an understanding of the concepts and techniques that are currently being used in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. The successful candidate must share in the mission of KGI and the Riggs School of Applied Life Sciences Programs. The Adjunct Faculty member reports directly to the Dean and works collaboratively with the Program Directors and other faculty. Located in beautiful Claremont, California, Keck Graduate Institute is a member of the prestigious Claremont Colleges, a consortium of five undergraduate liberal arts colleges, two graduate institutions, and The Claremont Colleges Services, which provide shared institutional support services. Education and Experience: Minimum of a Master’s degree in a related field. A doctoral degree is strongly preferred. A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
