Location: Dale Mabry Campus Position Summary: Adjunct faculty serve as temporary part-time faculty and are appointed as needed on a semester-by-semester basis. The primary responsibility includes teaching of college-level courses and/or labs in the qualified discipline, service and support of college policies and procedures, and professional development. Hillsborough College is seeking adjunct instructors for the Medical Laboratory Science Advanced Technical Certificate (ATC) 4+1 Program. Adjunct instructors provide didactic and student laboratory education in areas aligned with their professional expertise. Potential instructional areas include hematology and hemostasis, clinical chemistry, immunohematology and transfusion medicine, microbiology, immunology, urinalysis and body fluids, molecular diagnostics, laboratory operations, and other areas of medical laboratory science. Teaching assignments will be based on program needs and the faculty member's education, professional experience, certification, licensure when applicable, and demonstrated subject-matter expertise. Adjunct instructors are not expected to have expertise across all laboratory disciplines. Primary Responsibilities:Provide didactic and/or laboratory instruction in assigned Medical Laboratory Science courses. Teach laboratory principles, procedures, instrumentation, quality control, troubleshooting, result interpretation, clinical correlation, safety, and professional practice appropriate to the Medical Laboratory Scientist level. Supervise and instruct students performing laboratory exercises and competency activities in the College's Medical Laboratory Science teaching laboratory. Prepare or contribute to lectures, laboratory activities, assessments, case studies, and other instructional materials. Evaluate student academic achievement and laboratory competency.
