The oldest historically Black college for women in the United States, Spelman is a member of the Atlanta University Center Consortium and Atlanta Regional Consortium for Higher Education.Position Description The Department of Environmental and Health Sciences invites applications for a part-time Lecturer of Human Anatomy and Physiology to begin in August 2026 (Fall). We seek outstanding scholar-teachers dedicated to excellence in teaching concepts and theories of sustainability. The selected applicant will Instruct students in anatomy and physiology introductory lecture level course, including: examining the structure and function of the human body, cells, tissues and the integumentary, skeletal, muscular and nervous system. Provide a supportive learning environment and facilitate student learning. Adhere to course curricular, methods, practices and lesson plans as developed by the Environmental & Health Sciences Department. Conduct regular student assessments and provide timely graded feedback including homework, quizzes and examinations. Prepare course syllabi and reports related to teaching and student progress. Work collaboratively with the instructor of lab section to ensure the pace of the courseQualifications Master's Degree in Human Anatomy and Physiology, Exercise Science/Kinesiology, Medical Health or Biological Science or closely related discipline Ph. D., MD, DO, DPT, or other terminal degree in related field is preferred. Higher Education teaching experience preferred.
