Lead Instructor Worcester County House of Correction (WCHOC) culinary program (Part- Time) Category: Part Time Non-Benefitted Department: Center for Workforce Development & Continuing Ed Locations: Worcester, MA Posted: Closes: 08/23/2026 Type: Part Time Position ID: 203099 General Statement The lead instructor is responsible to facilitate the delivery of the culinary curriculum though collaboration with key WCHOC personnel and relevant QCC personnel. The lead instructor is further charged with the classroom management that best meets the published program objectives. Supervision Received Reports directly to the Director of Workforce Development Operations and WFD. Duties and ResponsibilitiesDeveloping the syllabus schedule both classroom and kitchen Teaching according to the syllabus outcomes or certification outcomes as assigned; this includes both classroom and kitchen teaching Coordinating the kitchen demonstrations and skills follow up with the WCHOC chef Procuring the demonstration food, small wares and recipes in advance of each class Proctor tests as required in assigned area (serve safe, allergen, FEAST) Evaluate students and provide feedback to improve student performance in a timely manner Manage classroom dynamics and pace adhering to the agreed protocol Delegating to and supervising additional QCC staff in the kitchen and classroom Keeping records of program expenses for submission as documentation Communicating weekly with the HRM program coordinator or QCC project manager Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Minimum QualificationsPrevious experience teaching culinary arts CORI/SORI and WCHOC screening and orientation Excellent communication skills Excellent organization skills Serve Safe Certified Program Details It is anticipated that the lead instructor will begin in September 2026 with a mandatory orientation session (mid -August) at the WCHOC. There will be 2 Cohorts, September 2026-December 2026 and January 2027-April 2027.
