About this position
University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach remotely for the World Languages/Cultures program. Specifically, the following course(s): Introduction to Japanese Language and Culture (ASTD 135): A hands- on, project-based introduction to Japanese language and culture. The goal is to develop cultural competency and familiarity with the history, geography, and culture of Japan and to use basic language skills to function effectively and appropriately in everyday life in Japan. Required Education and Experience: Master's degree in Japanese, Japanese Studies, Japanese language pedagogy, Japanese linguistics, East Asian Studies, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning. Three (3) years of experience teaching the Japanese language Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred This position is specifically to teach remotely. Materials needed for submission Resume/Curriculum Vitae Cover letter highly preferred If selected, candidates with international degrees may be required to submit a translation/degree evaluation from a NACES approved vendor.
