About this position

Job Description Position Summary The VM710 Foundations Bandaging Lab Instructor provides instruction to second-year DVM students in VM710: Foundations, a required course in Colorado State University's Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program. In collaboration with a DVM instructor, this role helps students develop practical skills in canine restraint and positioning, wound care, and the application and removal of soft-padded bandages. Full Consideration Date: September 8, 2026 Essential Duties:Lead instructional activities for the VM710: Foundations Bandaging Lab. Observe and support students as they participate in hands-on laboratory exercises. Demonstrate and explain safe, effective animal restraint and positioning techniques. Educate students on proper wound care. Demonstrate appropriate techniques for the application and removal of soft-padded bandages. Educate students on the implications of improper bandaging. Assess students' technical skills and performance following demonstrations and practice. Offer constructive feedback to reinforce learning and promote competency. SupervisionNo formal supervisory duties Conditions of EmploymentSuccessful completion of a pre-employment criminal background check (required for new hires). Minimum QualificationsRegistered Veterinary Technician (RVT) credential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred QualificationsExperience in teaching, mentoring, or clinical instruction. Demonstrated knowledge of veterinary wound management and bandaging techniques Experience working with veterinary students or teaching in a clinical teaching setting.
