Job Summary: The mission of CCD's Department of Communication, Journalism, and World Languages is to support the development of students' communication skills for effective use in personal, professional, and public contexts. Adjunct instructors within the department fulfill this mission each semester by teaching Communication (COM) courses with enrolled students that are pursuing a variety of educational pathways. Duties & Responsibilities: Primary teaching duties will be within the Communication (COM) discipline. COM Courses are typically three credit hours, and the primary course taught by instructors is COM 115: Public Speaking (although a variety of other COM courses are regularly scheduled and may be assigned, depending on the semester and availability of instructors). Beyond teaching, adjunct instructors are active participants in professional development, department projects, observations, and program assessment.
